MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
Monday, September 25, 2006
The Old Lyme Zoning Commission held a Special Meeting on Monday, September 25, 2006, in the Auditorium of Memorial Town Hall. Those present and voting were Ted Kiritsis, Jane Marsh (Secretary) and Steven Ames (Alternate). Also present was Ann Brown, Zoning Enforcement Officer.
1. Convene meeting; announcement of voting alternates.
Chairman Kiritsis called the Special Meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
2. Regulation Rewrite.
Section 11 – Special Regulations
The Commission, referring back to the April 24, 2006 Regulation Rewrite Minutes, Page 2, asked that the Inn definition be changed to add “transient lodging” before rooms.
11.5 Vending Machines – Delete “For all uses of land . . . one foot from such building.”
11.8 Motor Vehicle gasoline and Service Stations – Add Repairers Garage to title of this section. First word “Any,” change to “No.”
Merge Sections 11.8 and 11.9 and eliminate all redundancies.
11.10 Motor Vehicle and Motor Equipment Storage and Sales – Delete this section.
11.12.2 – Delete this section.
11.12.5 – Please clarify to the Commission what foregoing restrictions are being referred to here.
11.12.6 – delete this section.
11.12.7 – Check reference.
11.13 Alternate Energy Systems – Delete “The Zoning Commission, after due notice and public hearing as required by law, may grant a Special Permit Authorizing” and being section with Alternate energy systems, such as solar collectors . . . etc.”
11.13b – remove “open space.”
Add a requirement that towers higher than 35 feet will require a minimum setback from other residences of 200 feet.
11.16.1 – Second sentence start with “No,” not “Any.”
1.17 Commercial Livery and Boarding Stables; Riding Academies – Correct section number to 11.17.
11.17.2 – Commission to discuss this at next meeting.
3. Adjourn.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m. on a motion by Jane Marsh; seconded by Steven Ames and voted unanimously.
